Meet Jazmyn
Jazmyn Davis is the Founder and Executive Director of Pretty Grls With Purpose (PGP), a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating intentional spaces where girls and women can prioritize their mental health, nurture their overall wellness, and grow into their purpose.
A Spelman College alumna, Jazmyn earned her undergraduate degrees in Biology and Economics after initially pursuing a pre-medical path. Her academic journey began with an interest in medicine, but her personal experiences and evolving understanding of women’s health, mental health, trauma, and access to care led her toward a deeper commitment to supporting the emotional and psychological well-being of girls and women.
The Heart Behind the Purpose
Jazmyn’s commitment to this work is deeply personal. Having endured traumatic experiences as a young girl and navigated difficult experiences throughout adulthood, she understands that the things we experience can shape how we see ourselves, how we navigate relationships, and how we care for our own well-being.
Her journey has reinforced the importance of having spaces where girls and women can feel seen, heard, and supported without shame or judgment. It has also strengthened her belief that healing, self-understanding, and personal growth deserve time, care, and intentional support.
Rather than allowing her experiences to define the limits of her future, Jazmyn has used them as motivation to continue learning, growing, and pursuing an education that will help her better understand the complexities of mental health and trauma. Her decision to pursue clinical psychology reflects a commitment to turning personal insight into greater understanding, advocacy, and meaningful service to others.
Jazmyn is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Trauma Studies. Her academic and professional interests include women’s mental health, trauma, domestic and sexual violence, children and families, and the ways life experiences shape mental and emotional well-being.
Through Pretty Grls With Purpose, Jazmyn is building the kind of space she believes girls and women deserve: one that makes room for the whole person, not just the challenges they face. Through mental health education, wellness programming, mentorship, and community connection, she hopes to help girls develop the confidence to grow into the women they are destined to become and help women nurture the girls they once were.
At the heart of her vision is the belief that our experiences may shape parts of our stories, but they do not have to determine our futures. Every girl deserves the opportunity to discover who she is becoming, and every woman deserves the space to care for the parts of herself that still need compassion, understanding, and room to grow.
Pretty Grls With Purpose was created to make that space possible.
